Sumter Packaging Corporation was founded in 1958 as Kankakee Container Company in Kankakee, Illinois. In 1981, this company expanded to its present location in Sumter, South Carolina. On July 13, 1999 Sumter Packaging expanded to Orangeburg, South Carolina, with a Customer Service Center. On March 1, 2002, Sumter Packaging expanded a second time in Charlotte, NC with the aquisition of Queen City Container. Sumter Packaging Corporation has grown to approximately 120 fulltime employees operating 24 hours/day, 5 days/week. Sumter Packaging is currently under the leadership of Ben DeSollar, who is the third generation owner. Sumter Packaging continues today to successfully serve its customers through personal service and quality products with fast, dependable delivery.
